Your trust matters to us. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information Love.Light.Ki collects across this website — including the distant Reiki healing request form, our email newsletter, session and event booking, and any purchases — and how we care for it.

What we collect

Depending on how you interact with this site, we may collect:

  • Healing requests: the date of submission, your first name, your healing request details, your email address, and whether you'd like updates about Love.Light.Ki. We intentionally ask you not to include last names, addresses, phone numbers, or other identifying details in your request.

  • Newsletter sign-ups: your name and email address, and basic engagement information such as whether you opened or clicked an email, if our email provider offers that.

  • Session or event bookings: your name, email address, and any details you provide to schedule with us, typically through a third-party scheduling tool.

  • Purchases: your name, email, and billing details needed to process a transaction. Payment card numbers are handled by our payment processor directly; we do not see or store full card numbers.

  • Site usage: like most websites, our site host (Squarespace) automatically collects some technical information, such as browser type, device, and pages visited, often through cookies. See "Cookies" below.

We only collect what we need for the purpose you're interacting with us for. We don't ask for sensitive personal details such as government ID numbers, medical records, or financial account numbers.

How we use it

  • Healing requests are read only by Love.Light.Ki practitioners to offer distant Reiki one to two times per week.

  • Contact information (name, email) is used to communicate with you about the specific thing you signed up for: your healing request, your newsletter subscription, your booking, or your purchase.

  • If you opt in to updates, we may send you occasional news about Love.Light.Ki offerings, events, and Reiki education. This is a form of marketing communication you can decline or stop at any time.

  • Site usage data helps us understand how visitors use the site and improve it. It is not used to identify you personally.

  • We never sell your personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this site and our offerings. They only receive the information needed to do their job for us:

  • Squarespace, our website host

  • Google, to securely store and manage healing request submissions

  • A scheduling tool (such as Calendly), if you book a session or event with us

  • An email marketing platform, once selected, to send newsletter updates to those who opt in

  • A payment processor, if you make a purchase on this site

These providers are bound by their own privacy and security practices. We choose providers who take data protection seriously.

Cookies and site analytics

Our website host, Squarespace, may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand visitor traffic in aggregate. This is standard for most websites. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect how parts of the site work.

Where it is stored and how long we keep it

Healing requests are stored securely in a private Google account and released each month; after release, records may be archived or deleted. Newsletter and booking information is kept as long as needed to provide our services, or until you ask us to remove it or unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving marketing emails. Write to candace@lovelightki.com and we will honor your request as quickly as possible.

If you are a California resident, state privacy law gives you additional rights over your personal information, including the right to know what we collect and the right to ask us to delete it. As a small business, we don't sell your information and don't expect to meet the thresholds that trigger the full California Consumer Privacy Act, but we honor these requests as a matter of practice regardless. We reserve the right to update our policy to make sure it keeps pace with any new legal requirements.

Age Requirement

This site and its services are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the current version will always be posted on this website, with the "last updated" date above reflecting the most recent revision.
